• Hi,

I already have a WP website with Avada theme. I now want to create a 2nd simple website with 4 menu items and one of the menu items has 4 sub items. I have two questions
    1. I would like to use WP 2011 or one of the higher templates but do not really see the differences. Which one is good and not too complex
    2. How do I get my 2nd website running? My first website is hosted by Siteground. Do I just buy another hosting package and get started?

Thanks for helping me out, Wende

  • Which one is good and not too complex

That entirely depends on what you mean by “good” and “complex”. In general, the default Twenty-something themes are safe bets, as they follow standard WordPress coding practices.

How do I get my 2nd website running?

I’ve never used Siteground, but most hosts will allow you to use a subdomain (i.e., https://test.example.com). You could also just buy a second domain name and add it to your Siteground account (i.e., https://example1.com and https://example2.com).

Hi, Wend. Let me answer your 2nd question 1st, & then we’ll explore the 1st 1 a bit. What you do is very much dependent on your hosting provider. Some, like me, have a spot in their control panel called addon domains” or similar, where you can add a domain to your existing account. I’ve had clients from Siteground, but I never looked into that particular aspect, so I’m uncertain as to whether they provide that or not. If not, then yes–you’ll need to get a 2nd hosting package.

As to your 2nd query, you can’t go wrong w/any of the core WordPress themes (they begin w/the word ‘twenty’). They will all make nice sites for you, & they’re all accessibility enabled.
