• This is my first wordpress blog after making the move from blogger:
    https://www.mothersgarden.org/blog

The aim was to replace the old site (at https://www.mothersgarden.org), using the same colours and retaining the same feel, with something more admin friendly, SEO friendly and with ecommerce capabilities.

The olive oil shop is currently disabled, awaiting stock, but uses wp-ecommerce plugin which seems awesome.

The design uses the ‘this just in theme’ from John Crenshaw at https://www.rlmseo.com with some simple edits to the templates to alter the colours and header pics etc..

    So, what do you think?

  • It looks good, but I suggest installing a plugin like wp super cache. It toke about 30+ sec to load.

thanks for the advice nietdan I’ll have a look at that – there’s nothing worse than a slow site!

    Dae JC001,

    From a designers point:

    – What is your main objective with the website? Selling stuff?
    – Who is your audience? What kind of connection do they have?

You might add alot more design. Just pick one of the templates wich can be found on www.remarpro.com extended.

Also: Don’t use alot of text. It takes ages to read it all plus makes the website really crouded wich I personaly dislike alot.

Good thing is you went up a really better way then the older website =).
