I just updated and I noticed it added a button to my author’s post editors and began asking them if they’d like to update your plugin for css mobile features.

I try to keep my post editor clean for certain roles.

Can you make sure you only ask admins if they’d like to update a feature in your plugin?

Also, can you offer a tick box to remove the button from the post editor? In an ideal world I’d want it role based but I understand if you have to make it all or nothing.

    Hi Blair,
    Thanks for pointing this out.

You’re the second person to make both of these points. Going forward I’ll make sure to not display update notifications to non-admins.

Could you tell me a bit more about your use-case – why is the post editor button a problem for you? Last thing I want is to add another checkbox to the UI.

    Oh good. Thank you!

As for the post editor button.
I’ve been able to remove almost every extraneous button and metabox in the post editor. 2 reasons why it’s clutter for my authors:

1- They have no reason to be adding a mailchimp form to a post submission
2- When they click it, their role restricts adding that anyway, so it goes nowhere

If you’d like to avoid a UI checkbox, can you provide a snippet of code I can place in my functions.php to remove the button from post editor based on role?

Thank you for responding to this!

    Beautiful plugin BTW.

Thanks! for your suggestions Blair ??

We’ll be sure to revise our plugin updates to consider these factors.

    Cheers!
