New Users showing up on my site

I have been getting many new users. I do not know who these people are or where they are coming from. I’ve tried to click on the information on my admin. page and if anything comes up it’s another website or nothing. I think these might be some kind of hackers, but I don’t know. Is this a security issue and if so what can I do about it?
