We do not have a registration page. Instead we add users manually based on national membership. Though the new users are in the ProfileGrid Membership list, they are not associated with the only/default group.

“This profile is not yet associated with any parent profile group. To make it visible please associate it with a group first.”

Clicking on the edit button returns me to Users, which does not have a reference to ProfileGrid.

How do I associate the user with/add the user to the group?

    Thanks.

Okay. I found the obvious way to add users to a group individually – Assign Group.

But I still need to understand why new users are not automatically being added to the default group.

    Thanks.

    Hello @fiberlyone,

Each ProfileGrid group is associated with one registration form so users may join a group by filling the registration form associated with that group. Once users register on the site using that form, they will be assigned to the corresponding group automatically.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hey, I also have same problem. Please understand my problem.

    1. I’ve renamed default group to IAVIP members.
    2. From that group’s settings, I’ve associated it with IAVIP members role.
    3. I’ve added all the required sections & fields for this group.
    4. I’ve copied the shortcode with its group ID & added to the default wp registration page at https://staging.iavip.in/registration/ a page witch is set by-default as a default wp registration page by profilegrid.
    5. I’ve disabled the Dashboard Login Page Access & Dashboard Register Page access to Guests from the global settings > general.
    6. As mensioned above, I’ve not changed the Default WP Registration Page, I’ve pasted the group shortcode & its id into that page.

The form is working fine, Problem is that after submitting the form, Members are not automatically asigned with any group thus it shows an error

<q>”This profile is not yet associated with any parent profile group. To make it visible please associate it with a group first.”</q>

Why this happened? Even user fill out the registration form associated with that particular group still it didn’t worked.

I can’t understood the silly behaviour of your silly plugin. It is simply not working as expected.

    Hello?@niranjanv94,

Could you please make sure if the Group type is closed or open. For the closed group, the administrator will be required to approve the member’s request in ProfileGrid settings.?You may refer to the following steps to achieve this:

    1) Login to WordPress dashboard, go to the “ProfileGrid >> Requests” menu in the dashboard.
    2) The user’s request to join the closed group will be listed here. Select the user from the list and click on the “Approve” link on top.

Let us know if you need any further assistance.

Hey @profilegrid0, I’m using closed group type & I performed the steps you listed above & now it is fine. What was going wrong was that with my screen reader software, I was not able to get to those approve & decline buttons. Actually I’m totally unaware of those buttons . & It is only because of inaccessibility of your plugin. I’m visually impaired & my site is also for visually impaired physiotherapists. Why I’m talking about is only because profilegrid is missing some important accessibility standards. In front end my profile page, Our screen reader softwares dosen’t work as expected. You must conforms with wcag 2.0.
