Yes, another/related plugin (possibly the one you mention) is probably interfering before TML can send it’s email. Try disabling them to see which one.

    Hi Jeff

Thanks for your prompt and helpful response (and your great plugin)!

I don’t think it’s LearnDash as their support pages actually guided me to install and set up your plugin.

However (this is a site I ‘inherited’) there is another plugin WP-Mail-SMTP which I think may be the culprit. Although it should just be invoking an SMTP send (which incidentally doesn’t seem to have been set up) it has some ‘advanced options’ which include having the sender as noreply@ (which is where the offending new user emails come from).

I will disable that plugin and report back but I’d say that’s the cause. It’s the only plugin from the original site that I haven’t kicked out.

    Many thanks…Peter

    Hi Jeff

I disabled WP-Mail-SMTP and then got the standard wordpress@ email messages.

I have tried registering directly on the site and the TML custom emails worked fine.

The problem only occurs when a user signs up for a course with LearnDash. So it looks like it’s their problem rather thank yours (ironic when you consider that the LearnDash documentation directed me to set up TML).

When I get the answer from LearnDash I’ll post it here and mark this as resolved.

    Kind regards…Peter

LearnDash got back to me and said that they don’t actually use TML emails (even though it shows them being set up in their documentation).

So it is a LearnDash clash with TML and a problem in LearnDash documentation.

    Many thanks…Peter

The LearnDash plugin probably calls wp_new_user_notification directly. TML doesn’t use this function, rather bypasses it and uses it’s own. However, I believe in the next release, I will be going back to overriding wp_new_user_notification – thus making it work with LearnDash!

I am having this same problem with Nextend Facebook Connect. It is using wp_new_user_notification directly and skipping my TML emails.
