• Set up a blog for my sons and nephew to add posts about their exploits and adventures and upload photos for my Mums 60th birthday present.

Anyway, I am using a theme called Journal Crunch and have had no problems until I added a new user. I only want to give author access to my nephew so he can only add posts not screw with the other parts (he is 8).

Anyway, I added him as a user and when trying to post you can’t see the text as typing, it is as if it is in white with <p> tags. It publishes and previews ok but not ideal.

It doesn’t happen when i am logged in and i have tried changing administrator rights but it makes no difference.

The only thing I have found is a script to add to wp-config define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false); which makes no difference.

I have tried switching to a default theme twentytwelve but again makes no difference.

One more bit of info, in the edit post it has visual editor selected and you cannot select html.

Please help, my lovely present could go downhill if i cant give access to others and would rather them not have full admin rights by using my login.

  • I have the same problem. Brand new install on a new Centos box with nothing changed in WP after the install however when I try to add my first post the text is not visible in Edit Post. I can type in whatever I want, but just can’t see it. This was the latest version 3.3.2. So I tried a new fresh install with 3.3.1 and same thing.

I can enter and see the title fine, just not the body of the page. The HTML tab is not selectable either.

Same problem in Chrome and Firefox. Changing themes doesn’t help. Deactivating or deleting all plugins doesn’t either.

    Any ideas?

    Solved!

Just ran a routine to set correct ownership and groups on ALL files and directories within wordpress and now it works.
