• What am i doing wrong here?
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/prplr4u8lp2i2py/user%20role.jpg?dl=0

    What i want:
a WP role called ‘Schrijver’ (Author) has limited access to certain menu items and it is not allowed to see other profiles.

What i did to achieve this:
    – I created a new user role and i disabled Profile access (middle screenshot)
    – In the site menu, i set the item ‘Leden’ only visible to admin and member (top screenshot)

    What do i get:
After logging in as Schrijver (author) i keep seeing the disabled menu item Leden (bottom screenshot)

    In addition to the above…

I assigned the specific, new user role to the WordPress role ‘Schrijver’.

After doing this, it takes very long to log in and finally i get a ‘Too many redirects’ message. But after shortening the URL to the base url, i see that i am logged in AND that the menu items that i wanted to hide, are invisible.

So that seems to work, except for that other pages won’t load : ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

    Hi @bapakrob,

This may be caused by the caching plugins or server side caching, please exclude Ultimate member pages from the cache. Please also do a quick conflict test so we can rule out theme/plugin conflicts and see if this issue goes away.
Here is the doc on how to do a conflict test if you are not sure.

    Regards.

    Hi,
Thanks for replying. I tried all of your suggestions.
Actually i have made a copy of the site with just the UM plugin activated, but the issue still maintains.
Can I invite you to log in as an admin to check what is wrong?
