• I’m getting a bunch of emails saying “New User Registration” for my site (www.skinnymerecipes.com) … I don’t know how they are signing up I don’t have anything on my site for signing up. Also, not sure what to do with all the emails/registered users? Can I email them?

Sorry I’m new to blogging and WordPress so I just don’t understand.

    Thanks,
    Donna

  • Hi,

Every time somebody register on your site, you as admin receive a notification email about that.
If you don’t want, that user can register on your site, go to Settings – General: there is a line “Membership” uncheck “Anyone can register”.

Also, go to Users – delete these unwanted users from there.
Until you uncheck that registration, any user/robot can register on example.com/wp-login.php link. If you will uncheck that option in settings, registration will be not possible.

Thanks Peter ?? Can I email the people or send them notifications or does WordPress auto send them notifications when I write a new blog? Also, where are they signing up? I don’t see any kind of place to sign up when I view the site.

Type /wp-login.php behind your URL. The same URL what you use for login. You will see login form and link to registration.
By default WP does not have this function – for emailing/notification about new content/post.
Anyway, there are many plugins or newsletter solutions for this purpose.
Try to search in plugin repository or in google, you will find some.
