New User Registration – SMS Login

    Hi Sayan,

    Hope you’re doing well.

    I am one of the early adopter of this plugin; having updated the plugin to the latest version I realised the New User Registration function for SMS is no longer working well.

    Previously, whenever the user login with the new mobile number, the plugin will recognise it and create a new user. However, I noticed the latest version will simply show a message “You are not a registered user of this website” without creating the new user for the site. Is there any changes in the functionality recently? FYI, I have switched off most of the other plugins to ensure it is not compatibility issue (login and registration functions are WordPress built-in)

    Hi

    Yes. I think registration on your site is enabled from General Settings. So, please go to the Display tab and ‘Registration on WP Login:’ and set this to allow and save changes.

    Thanks Sayan, let me try it again and update you.

    BTW, do you have any intention to work on the function to support registration form for BuddyPress? The default username as mobile number might make user feel uncomfortable since it’s visible to other users. Anyway, this is really a useful plugin as the alternative to Twilio SMS gateway for passwordless login. You’re awesome!

    Yes, please try it again and net me know.

    Yes, I have a plan to add some more cool features to this plugin, but can’t provide you the ETA.

    You can set custom name for user registered via phone number from plugin settings.
