New User Registration (for admin) not working right

    I set up a new notification. The first setting is set to: Notification For: New User Registration – For Admin.

    The intent was to get myself an e-mail everytime someone registered as a new user on my site. I don’t get that. Instead I seem to get (roughly) once a day e-mails that my own address is a new user on the site.

    How do I troubleshoot this?

    The email that you receive – is it a digest of all users who have registered on that day or does it only ever contain details about a single user registration?

    It’s not a digest. It’s a mail about a single user registration (my own, actually), and it gets sent repeatedly. I’ve received 3-4 copies over the 3-4 days I’ve turned this notification on.

    Update: I just learned that each of us recipients are receiving these notifications *about ourselves*. In other words, my e-mail address is t***@mydomain.com, and I get notifications about the t***@mydomain.com user being registered, every day.

    But another admin, who is of*****@mydomain.com, is getting notifications about of*****@mydomain.com every day!

    Thanks for additional information.

    Can you post a link to a screenshot showing the whole page when editing the notification you have set-up for this in BNFW?

    I’m suspecting a late running cron, or a server hiccup, or another plugin is causing the issue here.

    Is the contents of the email that you’re receiving that of the BNFW Notification that you’ve set-up or is the content different?

    The contents of the e-mail IS the BNFW notification that I’ve set up. It just keeps sending me notifications about myself. ?? And it ignores real new users.

    Have you tried with the non email_ shortcodes? E.g. the ones starting with user_ ?

    Can you explain what you mean? What you see in the screenshot above is what got generated when I hit “Insert Default Content.” If I don’t insert that, what *should* I insert?

    Hi @ddas,
    You may be running into an issue where the default shortcodes added through the ‘Insert Default Shortcodes’ button aren’t correct. They have been known to change as a core feature inside of WordPress changes so it might just be that I need to update them inside of the plugin.

    If you look at this page you’ll see all the shortcodes you can use with that notification. I recommend switching the email_user_ shortcodes with the user_shortcodes and re-testing.
