New user registration–best plugins?

  • Please excuse my naievty, but could someone please tell me:

    1. How can I display a page or conspicuous box where users can register for my new www.remarpro.com site and be challenged by a Captcha? Later I expect to limit registration to paying subscribers, but for testing I an willing to permit “anyone can register.” I see that option, but not how to display a signup page.

    2. On the other hand, it might not hurt to “get my house in order” from the beginning. For a later period when I hope to charge for subscriptions, what, please, are the most popular/capable plugins for new user registration, collection of subscription fees, and guarding against bots that try to register? Modules by Woo Commerce?

    Thank you. Would you please elaborate? Perhaps people more knowledgeable than me can answer you, but I suspect that you state why Captchas and moderation go a long way toward controlling spam.

    @boycharlie, please post your own thread. It is impolite to hack someone else’s thread.

    @jackoslam, captchas go along way toward preventing spam because if there is no captcha feature on forms, then bots will fill the forms out with random data and you’ll end up getting spam. If there is a catpcha feature on forms then it’ll catch bots easily for they cannot answer the captcha question correctly.
