New User Registration…

    I run a website for a friend, and am getting this message…

    New user registration on your site:

    Username: **************** (some random person)

    E-mail: ******************** (random email address)

    Just wondering what this means and how can I stop this happening? Thank you.

  • You’re still set up as the primary admin on your friend’s site.

    It means someone’s registered for their site. Since your email is in the site options (under email address) you’re getting notified. “This address is used for admin purposes, like new user notification.”

    You can’t turn them off. You CAN disable registration if you don’t need it.

    I see it now…

    Originally thought it was hacking, but these people are just subscribing. The site owner doesn’t recognise the email address so will instruct to delete just in case. Thank you!
