• I’m trying to set up my blog and am actually using the Poet theme which is a child or Author.

Is there a way to have the home page have only the most current post and the older ones move to another “blog” page? If so, any suggestions on how to do this, please?

I would like the picture at the top of my home or landing page to always be the same. Is there a way to do that and then have the blogs begin right under that?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

    Thanks for using Poet.

There are a few ways you could do this. First, you could visit the Settings > Reading page and limit your blog to 1 post per page. The only downside is that each archive page will only have one post too. Alternatively, you could make the first post “sticky” and it will always appear before the others. That option is available in the post editor sidebar. Lastly, you could switch your homepage to a static page and write whatever you’d like there, and add a menu link for the blog. That can also be configured from the Settings > Reading page.

As for the image at the top, I’d recommend adding an image widget and then using the Widget Options plugin to limit it to the homepage only.
