new user- no login- tried everything

  • Just downloaded and installed wordpress to my server. Here’s a link… feel free to create a username to test stuff out, i’ll jsut delete it once it’s working.

    First i went through the forums… cleared the cache… cleared cookies… tried changing the password in the database… tried sexygeekgirl’s code from another post… did everything i could find…
    I also copied someone else’s login file from their apparently working site… and tried replacing my own.
    what happens is I’ll log in either as an admin or as a user that i created by ‘registering’
    and i’ll get sent to a page that displays this:

    and lines: 126, 128,129,130,131,150
    there’s no redicret and no login window for that now
    another weird quirk is that the login window initially doesn’t have the WordPress graphic… which is weird because the file i copied it from displayed it just fine…
    please help

    Also, FYI, the reason why my file didn’t work, is because you DLed the output of the file. It was exactly MY login file, which is for MY site, and MY database. There wasn’t an ounce of PHP code in it to make it work with your site.

    Now I see profile.php ??

    P.P.S It’s working now, I made it in as testuser8. See, I told you a fresh file would work.

    Yep, that’s pretty much what I said 4 posts up.

    I know, but I wasnt sure if it was clear to martz, I think hes a newish user as I imagine most people who know enough wouldnt try to download a .php file directly off a server, you seemed (understandably) peeved that he was grabbing your login – not having a stab or anything, just trying to be helpful.

    just to clarify… when i downloaded macmans file it was from his front page, where i right clicked on login and saved as. woulda figured that would save the actual php, so my bad
