New User – Hack

    Hi,

    Every few months a new user adds itself to my WP site. The site has been scanned and cleaned, passwords changed (FTP too)…tried everything. They don’t erase my access or seem to do any activity. My whole computer has also been cleaned by Geek Squad.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • It sound your site is being hacked repeatedly. It might be because of not cleaning the site properly after a hacked, that make a backdoor for the hacker to enter again.

    I agree with Kate.

    It sounds like there’s still a hole in your site’s security.

    Another very remote possibility is that your site administrator or host has a way to gain access to your site and that it’s not a hack but a login from your host for site admin purposes. Unlikely but I’ve seen this before.
