New user activation email not working

Hello,

Problem
-When a new user is created, the activation email IS NOT sent.

Context
-Emails do work
-The activation email IS sent if you send it manually from the Users panel.
but it is not sent automatically when a new user subscribes

Settings
-UM settings > email > all ON
-UM user roles > subscriber > set to “Require email activation”
-I use sendgrid (tests email work fine)
-I’m using UM version 2.1.4, WP version 5.3.2
