• Hi there,

with v2 of WordPress, a new upload feature has been included to the ‘Write’ page.

When I upload an image with that feature and add the iamge to a post, WordPress always adds the picture as a small preview thumbnail – I was unable to find a way to insert the image in its original size.

Maybe I am missing something, but even the functions of an uploaded image’s context menu do not help – whatever settings I choose, WordPress always inserts thumbnails instead of the original image. Tried it with IE and FF – no difference.

Also: it would be cool if the path of an uploaded image (or file) would be displayed in the new upload section.

    Thanks!

  • Is there any way to get the photos uploaded via the uploader to not have a post ID that messes up the ordering of everything? I imported and then uploaded all of my photos, and my post IDs jumped from 408-730. If there’s a way around it, I’d like to clear the databases and start over.

Having just updated to WP 2.0.3 from 1.5.3 I have to say please bring back the old way (upload image) so simple and easy to use. Please can we have it back?

Further to my last post I have done some digging around and found, that by changing from the WYSIWYG editor to 1.5 style editor via your admin panel ‘users’ then ‘your profile’ and under ‘personal options’ at the bottom of the screen un check the ‘Use the visual rich editor when writing’ box. This then gives you the old style write page with link boxes. Click on img box enter full URL of your image. Next box enter description of image for alt tag.Click ok and in goes the link. You could also under admin and then options and then miscellaneous change to full URL of where you want your image files stored. The default is wp-content/uploads.
    This works well for me.
