New updated version 6 ruined the page layout (STOP)

    Hi,
    Saw the theme update notification and updated it and it went trough OK but style and layout of the pages have changed after the update. All ruined.

    I am using Wp-Starter as child theme so all my custom CSS should not effect anything.

    For instance, the search button has gone wonky. See link for preview

    And the orbit slider stopped working (this slider was built on ZURB’s Foundation for Sites (Foundation 6.2)). Now I had to restore the theme to previous version.

    So those of you who are about to update, i would recommend you to wait a bit longer.. ??

    Ok, if you please view the site first then upgrade it to the latest version (you have my permission) and the format will be changed. Just so you can see it for yourself what happened to it and maybe you can dig around to see what went wrong etc pls.

    Yes saw your orbit stuff. looks fine to me. I’m confused..

    Currently i have re-installed the wp-forge older version 5.5.3 and when you upgrade to 6x it will change the whole format.

    Amigo,

    Look, I am not going to upgrade your site for you.

    The reason why the theme gets wider after an update is because the default width was changed from 64rem (1024px) to 75rem (1200px). This was covered in the changelog file:

    Increased the width of the theme from 1024px to 1200px. This is based off the new width of rows wich is 1200px.

    This tells me that you didnt read the changelog.

    So once you upgrade you have to go into the customizer and change the widths for all the containers back to 64rem.

    I am considering this topic closed and mark it as resolved.
