New tweets not appearing

    The plugin has worked great for me for a while, but noticed recently that new tweets have stopped appearing. Tweets still display on the site, but they show July 31 as the most recent.

    I’ve tried deactivating reactivating the plugin, and creating a new consumer key and secret from Twitter.com.

    Any other suggestions why it might be frozen like this?

    I haven’t been able to work it out beyond two potential issues:

    • Twitter’s SSL certificate changes in September
    • the curl / SSL issues in WP 4.4

    Sorry I can’t be of more help, it’s working for some sites but not others.

    Not sure why it stopped working, but I found that if I remove all the wordpress transients starting with “site_transient_rapid” that the plugin will retrieve in new tweets. Not sure if it will stop updating again or if this will have fixed the problem, but I’ll keep an eye on it and see.
