New to WP I need help Installing Good News v4.1 Theme!

    I was recently injured and unable to work so I decided to start a website in the same industry. So I signed with Host Gator and purchased a theme from Themeforest called Good News v4.1. Now it took me almost a month to setup my server with tutorials only. I wanted to learn on my own. So now I am ready to install the theme. But it just wont work. Host Gator even tried for two hours. I was told to contact the author due to a broken theme. Well I have had no response from the author or Themeforest.I did find out about the common broken theme issue. I tried it the way they said still nothing. Every tutorial video about installing themes usually has a theme folder in the zip file. This one doesn’t. I have tried many combinations of zipped files and the closest I got was the theme showed up in WP but unable to activate it.So anyone familiar with the Good News theme or if you could help me out it with it I would appreciate it very much. I am really in a tight spot and I am trying to make a deadline for it to be fully functional and live. Thanks to whoever responds to this!

  • Using ftp, you should move the Good News folder to the wp-content/themes folder. Is that what you have done?

    Also try posting something here, https://themeforest.net/forums/topic/themeforest/25 as you have a commercial theme which is not supported here.

    Thank you for the response. I tried a FTP to my file manager. The problems I am having is there are no instructions on where to install the files. Host Gator tried and couldn’t figure it out, the author and the guy who runs Themeforest hasn’t responded to my emails. I did manage to get it uploaded but pieces are missing. Like the new site builder, some images and other random stuff. Someone saw that I was requesting help from the author and he was able to help a bit. I tried following his install videos and followed it exactly for the theme editor but its still not working. Thank you for the response. This is a brand new release and I think he is still working the bugs out. I appreciate your advice!
