New to WP

  • I have inherited this site as a member of the PTA board. I’ve been doing web development for years, but Word Press frustrates me. Several issues I’m having:

    1. our calendar is set incorrectly. It shows December 2023, but the 8th is showing as a Thursday and not Friday. What is up with that?
    2. Why can I not edit the header and footer? They contain incorrect information, but it seems that those are set up in MotoPress. However, I’m not able to edit in MP as it throws an error or never loads for me.
    3. I have tried to update the version of WP, but I don’t have the proper credentials, I guess because it’s trying to get me to purchase a membership (even though I’ve been added as an administrator to our WP account for web editing purposes).

    I’d much prefer to take this straight to the source and use direct HTML to create/update these pages, but I can’t even see a way to do that either. So, I guess I’m needing help trying to figure out why I’m unable to edit certain pieces of the site and why our calendar is messed up.

    Are you referring to edit the header and footer of your theme??
    If so, looking at your site, you use theme51819 theme.

    Since you use a commercial theme and need support, please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations.

    Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. This is one other reason why volunteers forward you to the commercial product’s vendors. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product.
