New to Worpress Trouble with Installation

  • New to WordPress all went well until I got to “Step 5: Run the Install Script” and then saw the following, can’t find any reference online can anyone help.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_kses_bad_protocol() in /home/justinma/public_html/blog/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 2064

  • Most likely you have not uploaded all of the files. Try uploading again to make sure everything in there.

    When I did upload the files it did not run smoothly so did it again still with some issues (timing out etc). I use Dreamweaver, is there a better way to make sure all the files upload correctly?

    Don’t try to upload too many nested folders at once. Browse into wp-admin, for example, and upload those files and folders. Then back out to wp-includes and so on. Make sure to keep the same directory structure though. Anything in wp-admin on your local copy has to be in wp-admin on the server.

    I asked my host who suggested I use a Filezilla (set to only upload one file at a time) to prevent the firewall blocking access.

    It worked like a dream thanks apljdi for your help.

    Yikes. How long did it take to upload one file at a time? I meant uploading directories of thirty or forty files at a time.
