• WordPress version: 3.5
    WordPress SEO version: 1.3.3

I did this: Followed instructions for SEO usage

I expected the plugin to do this: Display google entry relatively close to the way the Snippet Preview looks

Instead it did this: Google appears to be duplicating some content as a suffix to the Google link

I have designed a brand new website that went live on December 15th. Prior to December 15th, all robot access was denied. The site was built using WordPress 3.4.x and your WordPress SEO 1.3.3; and the day the website went live, I upgraded to WordPress 3.5.

I am also using Timely Event calendar, which I see from other threads causes some issues (but I’m not writing about those).

The website I just created is https://wial-canada.org

Within hours of installing the WordPress SEO component, configuring it, and running the SEO process on all pages, I was already being found on Google. (Thank you for that!!!)

However, if you search for “World Institute for Action Learning Canada”, you will find my website, but note how the Google title link appears to duplicate some content at the end of the link…

I don’t know what I did within the SEO setup to cause this. This happens on all the links that show up in the Google search. The links look perfect in the Snippet Preview.

    Please help!

  • What do you mean by “duplicate some content at the end of the link”?

Is is putting junk in the end of the URL?
Are you referring to “Components of Action Learning | World Institute for Action Learnin” having “World Institute…”? (The default is %%sitename%% — see SEO > Titles & Metas > Post Types)

Look at the enclosed screen capture to see what I’m talking about. You’ll see the beginning of a repetition of the website title: “World Institute for Action Learning” where indicated in RED.

Since I can’t attach a photo, I’ve linked to it:

I’m having the same problem. My SEO title is displaying and then the site name is displaying (from the WP ‘General’ settings). I disabled the plug-in so I wouldn’t get the duplication, but I would love to continue using the plug-in.

As noted in a different thread, my elation at having Google find my website only hours after activating this plug-in has turned to puzzlement. Now, doing any search at all (for “WIAL Canada”, “World Institute for Active Learning Canada”, whatever) does not show ANY results that reference my domain.

The results DO show the international WIAL website, which has a stub indicating that a Canadian affiliate is coming soon. There are also “LinkedIn” references to Philip Cohen, the president of WIAL Canada … but no references for WIAL Canada itself ??

Is there something I can do to “force” Google to look at the site again?
