New To WordPress – Struggling

Hello

I am new to wordpress, and slightly confused. I had a site with Google sites, I employed someone to transfer my site and content to wordpress. They have done that for me, now I need to sort my content and make sure it is SEO friendly. I do not know what plugins to use, how to use them or anything other than how I access wordpress and edit my content. I have SEO yoast, that is all I know, I have been using it for each page. I was going to have the guy that set up my word press do all the work for me, but the prices were really high.

Can anyone give me any start up advice, plugins that may help? How to use a plugin? Have I used yoast right and do my pages now have individual page descriptions? Sorry to ask so much, I am just starting so have read so much and trying to take it all in. My site is Essex Pest Control and Bird Control

Also, I wrote a post on my blog, and then 3 things from my home page moved from my home page, to my blog page, a red box, blue box and some links to other pages beside stars? Do not understand why they have moved pages?
