• Hi everyone!
I haven’t actually switched over to WordPress yet, but plan on doing it very soon! I’ve been running my blog over at blogger, but the site has been down for the past 2 days and has made me consider switching. After researching, it seems that everyone loves WP! So here are my questions. Can I import my blog from blogger so that I don’t lose everything? Is there a way to point to my wordpress blog from my own domain so that the web address is my domain and not wordpress? Do I need a hosting site for that? I’m not very computer savvy and I’ve been trying to research for the past 2 days with my blog being down. I feel like I just get more confused as oppose to finding help. Thank you so much, I really appreciate any help you can give me! Have a wonderful day!
    Gail

    Yes.

Of course. That’s how www.remarpro.com works – You install it on your server (so yes, you need a hosting site). If you’re talking about wordpress.COM hosting, also yes, but that’s over here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/

    Yes. See Importing_Content

If you self host WordPress (as opposed to using a wordpress.com site), you will be using your own domain name from the get-go. If you opt for a wordpress.com site, you can pay to use your own domain name.

Do I need a hosting site for that?

    For a self-hosted site, yes.

Thank you guys so much for the help! I got a hosting site and am importing my blog now. It only imported half of my posts and all my comments, but I’m going to look at the importing content and see what I can do ?? I thought it was going to take forever to re-setup a blog! Way easier than I thought! ?? Much appreciation!!!
