New to WordPress help please

    I’m a novice when it comes to editing websites. That’s why I purchased a Theme. Unfortunately I have manually installed the Under Construction theme from Web Factory and also Visual Composer Page Builder from WP Bakery. What I’m struggling with is how to actually activate the under construction theme in the WordPress dashboard, and also how to start using the Visual Composer Page Builder as I can’t find it in the dashboard.

  • Unfortunately … Under Construction theme from Web Factory

    That’s a plugin… if you don’t need/want it delete it

    If I wanted to test/learn something like “Visual Composer Page Builder from WP Bakery” I’d make a test site (yoursitedotcom/test/), install wp there and play around with things

    1) To activate or deactivate the under construction plugin go to
    a) yoursite.com/wp-admin
    b) got o plugins
    c) activate or deactivate any plugin that you wish

    2) To edit page with Visual composer
    This is a commercial plugin, so you have to check for support from them, they have a lot of tutorials and videos, but basically.
    a) For example open the home page of your website with your browser
    b) You will see a black bar at the top, and there you have to click on “Edit with visual composer” (you have to be logged as admin).

    I encourage you I’m sure you will create an amazing website!

    Thank you delreyagency. There doesn’t seem to be an ‘Edit with visual composer’ in the black bar. The Plug in is definitely installed and active. I’m puzzled.

    Are you logged as administrator?

    Yes. I’m the only user and I have admin rights.

    Inside wp-admin

    1) Go to Pages
    2) Add nw
    3) Type title and content
    4) Publish
    5) Click on “Frontend Editor” (blue button)
    6) Now you will see visual editor

    Thanks again. I have no ‘Front end Editor’ button. Can this be right?

    I think the internet gremlins may have woken up. The Visual Composer has appeared in the left panel. Thanks again for your help.
