• Hello,

I am looking to perhaps open an account with WordPress.com ( A Business Account ) where I would like to open up an online e-commerce store.

However, I don’t have any experience with wordpress or how to go about looking for themes to install. Is themeforest and templatemonster the best places to look for wordpress ecommerce themes?

Is godaddy.com a good wordpress hosting service?

Thanks in advance for your input.

if you would like to use wordpress.com and purchase an upgrade for ecommerce, you do not need to purchase any themes from an external marketplace or purchase hosting.

    Thanks contentiskey,

What about the trade offs and/or options here when comparing using wordpress.com and purchasing an upgrade for eCommerce, or purchasing an eCommerce based wordpress theme externally, and using Godaddy’s hosting services?

When looking at the wordpress.com premium themes, they seem to only be geared towards blogs. I wonder If i look at themeforest or templatemonster, If i would find wordpress themes specifically designed for eCommerce and eCommerce only?

There are themes for WordPress from various authors that can be used for many purposes.

More flexibility for appearance and functionality with www.remarpro.com (self hosted). More stuff to set up compared to WordPress.com. As website owner, you are responsible for updates to software.

Here is an idea for a simple + free ecommerce theme that is designed to work with Woo Commerce in a self hosted WordPress website.

    WooCommerce also offers themes

If I use wordpress.com and don’t want to use any of their premium themes, can I go to woothemes to purchase one and use it on wordpress.com?

when you set up a website on wordpress.com there is no flexibility to install themes from other places.
