Hello, I started using this great plugin a few months ago to generate thumbnails uploaded using Formidable Forms. However, thumbnails no longer get generated automatically for newly uploaded PDFS until I click on “Generate Missing PDF Thumbnails”. This only affects PDFs uploaded from the front-end via a Formidable Form; PDFs uploaded directly in the Media Library still get generated.

    WordPress Version 6.4.2
    PDF Thumbnail Generator Version 1.1
    Formidable Forms Pro 6.7

    Hello,

it means that Formidable?plugin changed something and they are probably adding attachments to the WP with some custom scripts and they don’t use native WordPress functions, so my plugin can not hook in the upload process and do the needed generating of thumbnails.

I can imagine that maybe they try to create some layer of protection eg. for CV PDFs because of GDPR? I’m just guessing…

Is it possible to replicate this problem with a free version of Formidable Forms plugin? Or can you prepare some sandbox and DEV environment that I can access and try to solve this? Maybe they have some custom hooks which I can use to make my plugin compatible also with their custom mechanism, but I’m not familiar with this plugin and I don’t own a PRO license.

Thank you! How can I send you the sandbox credentials securely? And what type of access do you require (wp login / ssh)?

WP login would be enough if it’s an administrator

Bear with me – imagemagick is stubbornly not working in the temporary sandbox.

I can confirm that it is actually a problem with the shared hosting environment. On the sandbox (Ubuntu 22.04, PHP 8.1, Apache/2.4.58 (Ubuntu), ImageMagick 7.1.1-26), once I eventually got everything configured, it works perfectly. Thanks!
