• I just tried to change the theme on a site that was using a custom theme – and the site disappeared!

By disappeared, I mean if you go to any URL on the site, you only get a blank page. If you look at view source, it is empty.

even wp-admin returns a blank result!

So there is no way to go in the admin screens and change it back.

Does anyone have any idea what happened, and how I can go in by FTP or cPanel and restore?

    Please help – thanks!

  • FTP to your site find >> wp-content/themes/

Rename the directory that has the same name as your “custom theme” – that will disable the custom theme and WordPress should revert back to the default theme.

You should then be able to log in.

Was this a StudioPress theme? Because the same thing happened to me. The solution above worked, but I still can’t use my theme. Let me know if youhave a solution, because StudioPress is not being helpful.
