New Theme Old Posts Gone

  • I installed a new theme to my old page and all my posts didn’t show up.
    I searched for an answer to this and found it and it worked. But I had some problems with the theme so I deleted it to start fresh. I then realized that the posts are not showing up again and I can’t find the forum post that helped me fix this. I’m too new to wordpress but I don’t want to do much but get this template to work so I can go back to posting.

  • Have a look at Dashboard > Appearance > Customize and see what is set for your front page. Your pages and posts are all in your database, and your theme likely just needs to be told where and how to display them.

    Yeah, the posts page is set to the Blog page..nothing there.

    Just for trying. I added a new page I called “Test Page”. I went into Dashboard> Appearance>Customize and pointed the posts page to that “Test Page” and now my original “Blog” page shows the posts. I pointed the posts back to the “Blog” page and they disappeared.

    Just a guess here, but maybe check your posts in the editor to see where they are assigned or attached or whatever.

    I will have to try. But I am a bit of a novice. Not sure what I am looking for.
