    Hello,

I’ve just moved my blog from wp.com to wp.org and installed a couple of new themes to try them out, that would allow me to show a featured (thumbnail) image with every post (These are magazine style themes, where you only read the beginning of each post first, and then have to click on “read more” to access the complete post).

However, after moving to wp.org, I’m not able to make the pics show with any of the themes I’ve tried that are supposed to allow for this option.

On my old blog at wp.com, there was an option for a featured image to be selected at the time of posting, and once it was selected it would show as a thumbnail with the post on the front page.

Do I need an extra plugin in order to achieve this?

Please help. I need to make the blog available soon and this option is crucial for its success.

    Thank you

Twenty Ten isn’t defective. It simply doesn’t make use of the featured images in the way that you want. So it is really a case of just trying themes out until you find one that suits.

Well, I guess it’s back to the drawing board.

Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciated it.

If you focus on themes in the Theme Directory that have been updated since June 2010, they should all support featured images. However, like Twenty Ten, they may use them in ways that are not suitable for you.

    OK, thanks for the tip.
