New Theme development – simple search.php example code?

  • Hi, for hours I read now along the documentation, the manual, the comments and everything else. Instead of puzzling information together, it would be extremly helpful for me, just to have a working example of a working search.php.

    Since I have to build a custom theme for a project, I could work around it then, but for the life of me I can’t get Relevanssi to work…

    The search results page is just a WordPress Loop. That’s all it needs, and in general there should be nothing else in it.

    The default WP themes have good examples of how to build a modern search.php template.
