Is there anyway to import bbPress to phpBB?

Few limitations which I experience in this forum are:

It isn’t easy to track who replied to my comments or if further information is available. A rss feed tracking posts which I have originated and another feed for posts I have commented on would be great.

Search capability is very poor to put it politely.

Inability to see who was the originator of a post.

Inability to delete my comments or posts.

2. Search WILL improve. Matt is aware of the failings and also how to improve it. Please remember that everything has changed because people have complained – it’s not Matt doing it for fun.

3. ?? The originator of a post is the first one in the thread UNLESS it’s an old thread from before the switch to bbPress when 1st posts were lost. This does not happen anymore and to pretend it does is wrong.

4. Deleting posts? Not a chance. No. These forums exist to help people and the chronology of events and messages is vital. Also we would have people mass deleting their posts so they could pretend they never had any forum help (yes, I have had an email to do just that). If you really do want to delete comments and posts then there is a very simple solution – don’t make it in the first place.

AND, frequent forum users will know that there is nothing new whatsoever in what you are saying. Please be constructive.

Personally I think this forum does what it needs to adequately enough. Searching is occasionally problematic but it’s been said that it is being worked on so I’m sure that it will be improved soon.
It’s obviously not as fully featured as some other offerings but in time I’m sure this will evolve into something on a par with other boardware and until then we should just support this board by offering our views on what features need to be added so that the devlopers can make it better.
