Hello, new REST API PLUGIN – can we disable it and remove it ? Or does it always installs itself again if you disable it ? Thank you.

  • Hey there, @clitopwebsite! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

To make sure we provide the correct information can you please confirm exactly which plugin you mean? Do you mean WooCommerce Legacy REST API? If so, it won’t automatically reinstall.

If this is not what you are talking about can you please share a screenshot of it on the plugins page?
I recommend using https://snipboard.io. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

Do you mind sharing why you want to remove it? Are you having any issues with it?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

WooCommerce Legacy REST API was installed automatically on all my websites, it was written that rest api is enabled on my websites, so it installed itself, but rest api was not actually not enabled on any of my websites.

So a woocommerce store should be running well without this plugin ? Thank you !

    Hi @clitopwebsite

If you’re not using the WC REST API, feel free to disable it.

To do this, simply navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API and ensure no API keys have been created. Then, on the same page, head over to the Legacy API tab and confirm it’s disabled.

Once you’ve confirmed everything is in order, you can safely disable the WooCommerce Legacy REST API plugin. However, it’s important to closely monitor your site and all connected services to check for any potential issues.

I hope this clarifies your concern. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Hi there. We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
