Hello. My client and I are having trouble with WooCommerce on their site. We recently updated pictures of two of their products, the Lipotropic Super MIC under Latest Products, when we found that instead of saving as a 44:59 aspect ratio thumbnail as per the settings they instead saved as the original at 1:1 scaled down.

I checked the image and WooCommerce isn’t using the thumbnail image in the updated images like it should be. It’s doing this both on the Homepage, the Shop under Lipotropic Fat Burners and the Related Products on the product pages.

We have tried regenerating thumbnails and turning off plugins and witching themes to check for conflicts but the problem persisted. We have run out of ideas and need help with fixing this issue.

The website uses Porto Theme Version: 4.11.1 and WooCommerce Version 7.3.0. Please let us know if you know what might be the issue and how we can fix it. Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

Can you check under WooCommerce > status > scheduled actions > pending? Can you manually run the pending actions? Please run them, and give it a while to see if that helps.

Have you checked under WooCommerce > status > tools > regenerate shop thumbnails?

Let us know how that goes.

Hello @ihereira. I’ve tried manually running pending actions and regenerating the shop thumbnails on a staged version of my client’s site but there has been no change. Do you have any other suggestions that we might be able to try?

    Hello @davidblackballdesign,

I believe the culprit here is the Sale Badge but I couldn’t replicate this on my test site with the Storefront theme.

Can you please remove the product sale temporarily?

Look forward to hearing back from you.

Hello @babylon1999. Thank you very much. I deactivated the Improved Badges for WooCommerce plugin and tried reuploading the images. Unfortunately, it didn’t make any difference, sorry. The thumbnails still weren’t displaying.

    Hi,

I can see the site is using the Regenerate Thumbnails: by Alex Mills plugin, you can it to check if your code overrides the default size or not. We recommend checking this using a staging environment, you can configure a staging site by using WP Staging.

If that doesn’t help, you can temporarily disable all plugins (on the staging site) except WooCommerce (I understand you already did that) and then regenerate your shop thumbnails again (this is the different action to take making sure only WooCommerce is active). Please check if that makes a difference.

    Hope this helps.

Hello @ihereira. I tried deactivating Regenerate Thumbnails and regenerating the site’s thumbnails. Unfortunately, there was no change.

I also tried deactivating all the plugins on the site except for WooCommerce and did the same. Unfortunately, the problem still existed there as well.

However, I tried changing themes from Porto to Twenty-Thirteen and the thumbnails started displaying there. When I changed back, unfortunately the problem returned. It looks like there is something in Porto theme overriding WooCommerce. Do you know what might be causing this problem?

    Hi,

However, I tried changing themes from Porto to Twenty-Thirteen and the thumbnails started displaying there.

Thanks for trying that. In this case, I’d recommend to reach out to your theme support (Porto). And if you have questions after that, do let us know.

    Cheers.

Thank you very much, @ihereira. I’ve reached out to my client to check to see if they have a Porto support account we can use to lodge a ticket. I’ll keep you appraised, thanks.

    Hi @davidblackballdesign ,

That sounds like a plan. ??

Since the issue seems to be coming from the Porto theme, they would most definitely be in the best position to help you further with this.

    Cheers!
