New Pro Version: 3.2 – Color Palettes, Chart.js, and Oracle DB Connector

Today we are announcing a big update to the Pro version of the WP Intelligence plugin, v3.2. This version comes with quite a few changes and new features we have been working on and paves the way for even more features in the near future, some of which we will bring to the free version of our plugin eventually.

Color Palettes
Pro users will notice a sudden change in the color scheme for some of their charts away from the green color to a rainbow-esqe color assortment. This is because we have added a new color palette option with predefined color settings for all current charts. The default setting has been set to the “Britecharts” selection which is the default color palette for the Britecharts library and will serve as our default for the Pro plugin.

You can change this at any time in your Chart editor without making any changes to the short code, color palette changes will appear on page refresh.

Oracle Database Connector
We are now the only WordPress chart or business intelligence plugin which supports a database connection to an external Oracle database. This will always be a Pro only feature.

Chart.js Support
We have added in Chart.js support to the Pro plugin. This means our Pro version now supports two independent chart libraries: Britecharts and Chart.js. Because of this we have added an extra option when creating a new chart, you will first have to select the chart Library and then you will be able to select the chart type.

Chart.js charts use the same color palette options as Britecharts so your color scheme can stay uniform across chart types.

New Chart.js Charts
Along with support for Chart.js the following new Chart.js chart types have been added, bringing the total number of charts available in our Pro plugin up to 11.

– Chart.js Line Charts – Plot a set of values on a line with labels
– Chart.js Bubble Charts – Plot two sets of values on a grid with a third set (or one of the other two) representing the size of each bubble.

Bug Fix
This release was originally v3.1.9 but we found a bug in it immediately after deployment. The bug caused an error in the display of Britecharts Step Charts. This was fixed quickly and released as version 3.2. Please make sure you are on the latest version.
