• Hi all,

    recently pages have not been loading properly on browsers. For example on my laptop I have to keep pressing control and F5 for new changes to be seen. On my mobile one of my article is not showing up as it should and still has an older article. I have a newspaper theme and the four main articles on homepage that should show up on laptop are, after always having to control/F5, but one out of the the four is not showing up on mobile device and on tablet it keeps showing older articles. On Firefox it is also showing older articles. Also on both Chrome and Firefox using Laptop articles which are ticked for ‘culture’ categories and are not showing in the culture categories. But they are showing up OK in the culture categories on mobile and tablet. Also when I upload a new article the home page will revert to an older page and not the current one sometimes and have to control/F5 again. I have had my site for over 3 years and not had this issue before. Would really appreciate some help in sorting issue.

    This sounds like a caching issue.

    Do you use any caching plugins or run your site through Cloudflare?

    Hi Steve,

    I did have W3 Total Cache plug in but disabled it as it was not really doing anything to help. Running site through Bluehost.

    Bluehost uses something called “endurance page cache”. There should be a button for it on the admin toolbar, which you can use to clear the cache it maintains.

    Look under “must use” on the plugins page.

    Thanks Steve. Will try the Bluehost thing.

    Not much joy on the Bluehost front. Asked live support about ‘endurance page cache’ and said he had deleted. After asking a number of times if he could explain to me the issue and failing but helpfully being plugged different new paid products that might help.

    Thanks Luke. Will try and get someone to look into W3tc and see if the uninstall has been done ok. At the mo just uninstalled on WP admin.

    The home page is looking as it should on Chrome and Firefox. But stil older posts showing up on mobile and tablet.

    @runonterry

    So if the site is loading fine on desktop, then it sounds like a browser caching issue on mobile on tablet. So I would check those devices, clear the cache and reload the site.

    I did the following then refreshed page still the same
    Chrome for Android
    Launch the Chrome app.
    Tap the device’s Menu button | tap Settings.
    Tap Privacy.
    Tap Clear Browsing Data.
    Check Clear the cache and Clear cookies, site data, then tap Clear.

    @runonterry

    So when viewing the site on desktop, where you still logged in to WP Admin?

    (@runonterry)

    yeah

    @runonterry

    If you where logged in then the cached version would not show, if there is still a cache of the site.

    I would make sure that W3TC has been totally uninstalled, then recheck the site on desktop, mobile and tablet that the correct version now load.

    Thanks Luke. Laptop/PC is fine now and on different browsers just not on mobile/tablet. Although we will see if it plays up still when i post a new article.

    Will look into ensuring W3TC is totally uninstalled and check mobile/tablet.
