I use Twentig with the Twenty Twenty-Two theme. I recently noticed that new posts are not showing up on the category archive page. The category is shown in the breadcrumbs and in the post meta info, but when you click those category links or go to the category page from the menu, the post is not there.

I have questioned support at an ad service that I use. They tested and found nothing on their end that could be causing the problem.

The breadcrumbs are provided by RankMath. I contacted their support. They said RankMath has no impact in the process of showing posts on category pages and suggested I contact support for the theme.

The archive category page uses only the Query Loop block to call in posts. There are plenty of posts that do show up. It’s just that posts in the past several weeks do not. WordPress is set to show 8 posts on archive pages. I changed it to 10 just to see if anything changed concerning the missing post. Nothing changed.

To recap: These posts do appear on the custom template-based home page. The categories are shown in the breadcrumbs and post meta info, just not on the individual category pages.

The page that I linked to above is one example of the problem. There are others with the identical issue. Click on the category in the breadcrumbs or meta data and you will see that the post is missing from the category page.

I’m running WordPress 6.2 and Twentig 1.6. I also use Kadence blocks 3.0.33 for a few situations.

    Hi there,

To rule out a conflict with the Twentig plugin, please try to temporarily deactivate it. If the problem persists, then the issue is not related to Twentig.

The best way to rule out any plugin conflict is to temporarily deactivate all of your plugins. If this solves the issue, reactivate your plugins one by one until you find which plugin is causing the problem.

If deactivating the plugins doesn’t resolve the issue, it’s possible that the Archive template is the source of the problem. Please go to Appearance > Editor > Templates > Archive and copy and paste the code of the template here so I can take a look.

    Thanks,
    Yann

Could you please paste the code of your custom template part “archive-and-search-body-layout”?

The query loop appears to be set up correctly, so it is unlikely that the issue originates from there.

Have you tried temporarily deactivating all of your plugins to rule out any plugin conflicts?

    Thread Starter Bookman53

    (@bookman53)

I installed the Health Check and Troubleshooting plugin and after testing for quite a while, narrowed it down to the EditorsKit plugin. Even with all other plugins disabled, if EditorsKit is active, the post is missing from the category page. If I disable EditorsKit, the post shows up on the category as it should.

I have submitted a ticket EditorsKit to see if they have any idea why it’s conflicting.

Thank you for the heads up. Since this issue is not related to Twentig, I’m closing this support thread. I hope you find a solution.

    Have a great day,
    Yann
