    Hi,

I’ve noticed a change in behavior when publishing posts. The category page no longer refreshes as it used to, and this started happening after the latest update (version 2.7.2), which was applied the day before yesterday around 12:30 AM.

Specifically, the new posts are not appearing in the slider at the top (where the 3 most recent posts usually display), but they do show up below with the other published posts.

However, after clearing the W3 Total Cache (clearing all caches), the page updates and displays the new posts at the top as it did prior to the update.

Is there a way to fix it? Should I install the previous version?

    Thank you!

    Hello @eguzmana

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to help!
Can you please sahre the screenshots of both sections on what you are seeing with the W3 Total Cache enabeld and also disabled so I can see the difference.
I’ve bypassed the cache and the page looks the same so I would appreciate if you could share more information.
    Thanks!

    Hello @eguzmana

    Thank you for your feedback

Just to confirm, does the issue persist if you rollback the plugin to the previous reason

    Thanks!

    (@eguzmana)

Yes, if I rollback to “active” the issue persist, so I have to clear the cache to make the change permanent (until new posts are created).
It is a newspaper site, so we have to show whats is new on top.

    Thank you again.

    Hello @eguzmana

    Thank you for your feedback.
I am not sure if we undersood each other. The question was if the issue persists if you rollback the plugin version to 2.7.5?

    Thanks!

oh sorry, my bad, I meant if rollback to the previous plugin adjustment (active again), I havent tried rollback to version (2.7.5). Is it safe? just have to uninstall current and install the previous version? settings remain?

    Hello @eguzmana

    Thank you for your patience.
In the first post, you mentioned that you have version 2.7.2 and the most recent version 2.7.6
    Can you please confirm this?

You can use WP Rollback plugin to revert to the pervious versions of the plugin

    Thanks!

Sorry about that, a typo, 2.7.6, the latest.

I was pasting the version, but was the WP version, 6.6.2, fixed over it, didn’t notice didnt fix the last number.

I’ve already downloaded the 2.7.5, just want to be sure about the replacement process.

    Hello @eguzmana

    Thank you for your feedback.
Just install the previously mentioned WP Rollback plugin and in the plugin section, rollback to the previous version of the W3 Total Cache

    Thanks!

Hello Marko, thank you for the follow up.

Ahh, missed that part, I can use that plugin to install the previous version. OK, let me do that tonight and let you know.

Hello Marko, sorry for the delay, I just did the rollback to version 2.7.5.

Both issues were resolved, so it’s definitely related to the update to version 2.7.6.
Do you think this is something the W3 Total Cache developers should look into?
Especially when a new update, say 2.7.7, is released, could it present the same issue as with the 2.7.6 update?

Thank you for the follow up.

Hello again, I just wanted to inform you that version 2.7.6 was also responsible for another issue. It conflicted with the system cron (not WP cron), causing all scheduled posts to fail and show as “Missed Schedule.” After reverting to the previous version, the scheduled posts were published successfully.

    Hello @eguzmana

    Thank you for your feedback.
Agin, this is something we cannot seem to replicate and there are no issues of these kind when I performn tests as you mentioned.
I’ll test this more to see what may cuse this, however, I would recommend staying with the current version if it works for you

    Thanks!
