New Posts Disappear?

  • Has anyone that is on WP2.1 had a post disappear? I made a short post last night, around 11:45p (23:45), woke up this morning, went in to clear spam (via Akismet), and then looked at the WP Admin Summary page to find that my post from last night was missing. The fact that I deleted spam _may not_ have anything to do with this, as I always have my Firefox tabs load lots of things, including my blog, and the post is missing from the main page anyway.

    Anyone else losing posts?

    Luckily this was only about that Rock-Paper-Scissors Bud Light commercial!!! ??

    Someone else is reporting problems with posts disappearing – but they have not stated which version of WP they are using just yet …

    We are losing posts, too, using different installs of v. 2.1 and 2.1.2. Any clue anyone? Help. Thanks.

    Yes, we had this happen yesterday. Interestingly, the author whose post disappeared posted the same post to his own wp instance with no problem. He runs 2.1.3 while we run 2.1.2.

    The post existed for around 24 hours and had a comment. When the author went in to look at his code, he hit the edit button and recieved a message “you are not allowed to
    edit this post”

    I went into the db and discovered his post was completely gone.

    I have asked him to report on what plugins he uses to see if a plugin might somehow be causing a problem.

    Our blog is having a large number of long articles disappear on us recently to the point where a couple of writers have left.

    Searching back through the forums this seems to be happening to a decent number of people and it doesn’t look like anyone as any ideas as the problems seem to be unresolved months later.

    The closet I found was this:

    So I had my friend look at our wordpress install, he went into the database and managed to find all the deleted entries.

    He said that each one that had disappeared had Null values in the date field/s, simply changing them back to what you want them to be fixed it.
