New post: only titles are published

hello! how’s everyone doing? I just upgraded to wp 2.3 and none of my posts are showing. Just the titles. I have written 2 rather long posts, have saved them…and when I go to view the page, nothing is showing up…

please help!

Same thing has happened to me, dont know why. But what I did was delete that post and everything returned to normal. Then, when i re-posted it, everything stayed normal. I have started writing my post in word, then copy it to WP and republish the post. I am sure this is not the correct way to fix this, but it works.

First, use wordpad or notepad instead of word. Word will attach a bunch of formatting codes that can mess up your page.

Maybe you folks could provide more info about your setup.

I went to netmom101’s site, and it has a post saying technical difficulties resolved. I wonder what the solution was?

Could you explain how to do this? How do you copy your post in wordpad to wordpress? I’m having similar problems as well.

write something in wordpad, and select all, go to wordpress writing area, and paste. Nothing mysterious. this has nothing to do with only titles showing up though. it’s just to avoid goofy formatting.

nyb. could it be your theme? have you tried switching to the default theme for testing? do your posts show up there?

andrena, I see posts. do you mean on new posts only? there is a post titled comments only that only has a title.

Sorry, manstraw. It doesn’t appear to be my theme. I switched back to the default theme and made a post, but the problem remained.

hmmm. what could you guys have in common? perhaps a plugin.

I recommend you disable all of your plugins and try a test. If it works, then enable them one by one until you see the problem again. (yeah, I know, lots of testing).

I’ve installed fresh, and upgraded from previous several times, and never had a problem with 2.0.3 and posting. I’m just recommend you guys do things I would do if I had such a problem. It might take time. If someone else has experienced this and knows of a solution, we’re all ears here! ??

Disabled all plugins, posted, and nothing. Problem persists. ??

Never touched the markdown plugin. Although I have disabled all the plugins via the WP control panel, do I have to delete the plugin files via FTP to fully ensure that they are disabled?
