Installed this plugin awhile back to replace the Subscribe2 plugin when it stopped working. Created a notification and for about two or so months everything was working fine, then shortly after the plugin stopped sending new post notifications. Installed the postman email log and noticed that emails were being sent to certain people but not all people, also emails are received by admins. There is a list of about 278 subscribers minus the admins and authors and only about 1/8 of those subscribed get a notification for some reason. The server has been checked, we use the smtp method and other than that just standard out the box notifications for the subscribers.

The theme used on the blog is “Judy Blog”

Weird thing is that sometimes the notifications are received by those who have an internal company email, but not everyone in the company receives…and the other half of the time outside emails receive notifications but not the admins. Very weird behavior.

Also went through and turned off all of the plugins, nothing seemed to fixed the issue.

    Hi @erodgers93,
    Thanks for your message.

That sounds like it could be two things to me:

    1. Non-internal company email addresses are flagging the notifications as spam. The internal company email system could have little to know spam prevention which is why it is allowing them through in one scenario but not the other.
    2. The number of notifications is exceeding the limit imposed by the server and so sometimes, not all messages are delivered.

As for next steps, I’d check on your notifications to see if they’re likely to be flagged as spam or not i.e. sending from a domain that isn’t the same as the one that WordPress is installed on, and to check with your host that you’re not exceeding your email sending limit in an hour / day.

Let me know how you get on.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Jack

    Hi,

We’ve checked to make sure things are not going to spam, those that did receive an email got it directly in the inbox. Those that reported not to have received it, checked spam and reported that the emails were not being flagged as spam.

The domain that the emails are sent from is the same as the one that the blog is installed on.

As far as the host is concerned, there is not a limit for how many emails are sent. The server is set up to whitelist all company email addresses and all subscriber/author/admin emails.

    Hi @erodgers93,
    Ok, thanks.

Are you able to whitelist a single email address on the server that you know to not work and re-test? Additionally, you may wish to whitelist the domain that the blog itself is on just in case.

If still no luck, the only thing I can suggest, other than making your way through the regular support document, is to try a different host and see if you can narrow down the problem. It does sound like a delivery issue of some kind as opposed to an issue within WordPress to me, from experience.

Let me know how yo get on.

    Thanks,
    Jack
