    Hello!
Our new blog post yesterday isn’t showing up on our blog’s homepage. However, you can see it when you go right to the post or when you’re looking at the category.

For this post, we’re using Wishpond for a Pinterest contest. This is the first and only time this has happened, so it has to be because of Wishpond. We’re not using the Wishpond plugin — it is through the Wishpond website. I contacted Wishpond support, but they said it’s a WordPress issue.

I’d appreciate any advice or ideas on how to fix this! Thanks!
    Sarah

  • I can see the recent post on the blog’s front page.

I DO see that post on your site’s homepage.

Shows up fine for me – what browser are you using?

I’m using Chrome. I can see it when I’m logged in, but when I open an incognito window, it’s not there.

Yesterday people using Firefox and IE couldn’t see it.

I see it in Chrome and Firefox just fine. Try clearing your cache and cookies.

Well if you all can see it I guess we’re in the clear. Maybe it worked itself out overnight? Thanks for checking, guys!

This sort of problem is almost always caused by caching plug-ins. What happens is that the caching plug-in carries on showing an older, cached version of the home page not realising that a newly published post cause it to clear out the old cached version of the home page and make a new one.

You can solve this manually by clearing the cache yourself when you edit a post, or if you’re lucky there will be a setting somewhere in your caching plug-in that will let you tell it to recreate the home page whenever posts are published. W3TC has this option, but I’m afraid I’m not certain if the caching plug-in that you use has it.

Caching plug-ins don’t usually serve cached pages to logged-in users, which is why it looks ok to you when you’re looking at the site when logged in as admin (you’re seeing a freshly-made, uncached version), but not when you’re visiting as a normal web visitor.
