• So,

I just posted a new post on my website. I have myself as a subscriber so I can see what outgoing mail from the website looks like. I just got an email notifying myself of this new post, but the email itself is all in code it looks like! It looks awful! For example, it begins like this:

    [et_pb_section admin_label=”Section”fullwidth=”on” specialty=”off”]

and continues in code like that throughout the entire email. There is no normal email at all.
Any help on how to fix this would be really appreciated.

  • Hi @michbela,

In order to help you further, I would like the answers to a few questions:

    1. When did this start happening?
    2. Have you updated anything ? (WordPress, plugins)
    3. Where are you hosted?
    4. Could you post the entire content of the email please.

    Thanks.

    Of course!

    1. This is the first and only time it has happened, it just happened yesterday.
    2. Yes – the entire website has been re-designed over the last few months. It is updated to the most current update of WordPress. The Plugins I’m using are: Akismet, Flexible Posts Widget, Image Widget, Jetpack by WordPress, No Self Pings, Orbisius Child Theme Creator, Popup Ally, W3 Total Cache, WP deferred javaScript, WP Minify Fix, WP Smush, and Yoast SEO.
    3. I’m hosted through Bluehost and my website is built using the Divi Theme with the Divi Builder
    4. This is the entire content of the email:

    Hi @michbela,

Okay thank you for that. Now I would like to know if a plugin may be coming in the way of sending a normal email message body.

Could you please disable all the plugins and then send a test email out? If that shows the correct content in the email then start enabling the plugins one by one testing the feature after each plugin being enabled. If after enabling a particular plugin you see the same issue, then that may be the plugin causing this behavior.
