    Hey!

    I have a notification set up for the action “New Post Published” – however, when a new post is published, the email doesn’t send to the author. If I change the action to “post updated”, the email does send! Any ideas as to what the problem may be?

    PS: All my emails are going to the “Promotions” tab in Gmail. Any way to fix it. I am using SendinBlue.

    Thanks for your message.

    How are you triggering the New Post Published notification? Is it via a front-end form, via the block editor, or via the Classic Editor plugin?

    Not sure why emails are going to the Promotions tab in Gmail but imagine it has something to do with their message content or something Sendinblue is adding. It’s not something BNFW should be doing, if it helps.

    Users fill in a form and a post is created as a custom post type. The way I trigger the notification is by changing the post type to “post” (using post type switcher) and changing the status from pending review to published.

    Is this a problem?

    I still have tried other ways and it wasn’t working either.

    So the post is created via a front-end form but then you manually go into it in the WordPress admin and change details of it in order to publish it, is that correct?

    Yes:
    1- User submits frontend form
    2- Post is created as a custom post type called “Pending Review Posts” (I have created this because of certain functionality)
    3- Then I tweak some things and change the post type to “Post”

    That is the process.

    Is there a reason why you’re using another post type as opposed to use the Pending Review post status? I ask because I think BNFW isn’t picking this up as the post status doesn’t actually change – it always stays as publish, it’s just moving post type.

    Actually, posts that are made with the frontend form are being created as “Pending Review Posts”, with a pending review status. I’ve made it too complicated haha, now that I understand that the problem is there, I will try to work around it.
