NEW PLUGIN: Custom Admin Menu
-
I’d like to announce a new plugin for the WordPress community: CUSTOM ADMIN MENU
HERE: https://barunsingh.com/software/custom-admin-menu/
This plugin will let you customize just about everything having to do with the organization of your WordPress administration. You can relabel and rearrange menu items.
You can create sub-sub-sub-menus, or nest menus as deeply as you want! You can change the parent of a submenu item, or move a submenu item to the top-level menu. You can move something from the top-level menu to a submenu. You can hide any menu or submenu item. There’s a bunch more you can do to.
The website above includes a screencast that shows how easy this plugin is to use, and what it is capable of.
WordPress by default uses a set of menu and submenu items that is well-set given that it has to meet the needs of a very large base of users. But for any given user, there are certainly things about the menu structure that it would be nice to change, if it were possible. Well, now it is.
This is particularly useful, I think, for web designers who want to create a very intuitive adinistrative interface for clients who need to add content to their WordPress sites. You can get rid of extra menu items and make labels more obvious, so that clients aren’t confused. That was why I created the plugin, and it has served me very well.
