New pages all show as index?

  • When I make a new page in WordPress, it always appears as my index page.

    The name of the page in the address bar, however, is the name of the permalink (ex.www.mysite.com/?page_id=3).

    The site wasn’t built in WP, but was just transferred over to a new host. I then installed WP in the root directory of the site (ex.www.mysite.com)

    I think there is some file that must be causing that to happen. Any help is appreciated.
