• Hello,
sorry, I’m not technical but please could someone help:
Just got up and running a new wp blog recently. Created a new page using default template. Page is named “about me”
    link: https://www.matthewmason.co.uk/blogs/ukdrummerboy/?page_id=2
However, there is no option for visitors to add comments. I would like to give visitors to add theit comments. Seems a bot strange, when visitors can add comments to other blog entries.

Is there something wrong with my default template? Seems a bot strange considering my installation was straight “out of the box”.

If someone could kindly help using plain english I would appreciate.

    Thanks

A Page (see Pages to learn about it) is not a post/entry.
No, visitors should not comment on Pages. Most people hate that, sorry.

You can create another Page template (see the link above) to have comments on it by adding the proper code lines used in the single.php file for example and in the index.php.
Or, you can just add those lines to your page.php template file.

Thank you that worked a treat. I have copied code from another template, and made a new template file. I understand that some ppl may not want comments on pages. I was thinking of a general guestbook type page, where people can leave comments, or messages.
    Anyway, thanks again, very usefuly.
