    Hi There, as my topics says:

    Admin recieves E-Mail “New order” 2 times

    Customer receives E-Mail “Order in Processing” 2 times

    Order & Payment is only once, that’s lucky.

    But Inventory is reduced by factor 2.

    Happens only when customer pays with stripe, other payment methods are not affected.

    I understand that you’re receiving duplicate New Order and Order in Processing emails when orders are placed using Stripe, and your inventory is getting reduced by two. As you’ve mentioned, this only happens with the Stripe Payment Gateway and not other payment gateways.

    First and foremost, it is quite strange that the stock level of your products are being reduced twice. I tried replicating the issue on my test store, but was unable to find a similar situation.

    In order to troubleshoot this issue even further, I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue:

    1. System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
    2. Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

    Hello! The same thing happens to me.
    Previously, this only happened if the user was new and making their first payment using Stripe.
    With version 8.5.0 and 8.5.1, it is happening with all payments that use Stripe.

    I enabled the ‘Legacy checkout experience’ and the duplication issue stopped.

    I will use it this way for now.

    Hi There, as you can see from 2 different orders, the inventory reducing apperas 2 times, so did the stripe-id (with the same id).

    For now, as @sn0wm4n mentioned, most people were able to prevent this by switching to the legacy checkout.

    The team is already aware of this issue, our developers are still discussing different ways to solve it.

    You can follow the progress in this report on GitHub. We don’t have a specific time for when this will be fixed in an update, as bug fixes are prioritized using certain criteria. I suggest subscribing to the report to receive updates.

    Rajesh, how many hours were invested in to solving this issue in the last week, because it seems more and more people are experiencing it every day.

    My client was so annoyed with it, so I tried, in desperation, enabling the Legacy Checkout. This broke the checkout process, and we lost many sales due to it.

    This is getting ridiculous – that GitHub report has been open for over 2 years!!!

    Please reply with the number of hours that were put in to solving it in the last week.

    I’ll tell you: 0. Please actually do something about it. We’re losing our confidence in using WooCommerce and Stripe.
